Sunday Services 5:00 PM
North Canberra Baptist Church
17 Condamine Street
Our Sunday night services are based on a four-week cycle (see below). As a result, our services vary from week to week. The calendar on the right indicates the kind of service we will be having on any given weekend.
We meet each Sunday evening at 5pm and cycle through four different kinds of gatherings. Our meetings normally go for an hour and fifteen minutes.
At this gathering we share a meal together. It is very informal and children of all ages are welcome.
This service is a time of praising God through song and reflection. During this service we share in communion; this is a symbolic meal whereby we remember the person of Jesus Christ and the significance of his life, death and resurrection. This service is also an opportunity to share stories about what God is doing in our lives and to worship him in this way.
At this gathering we delve into a passage of Scripture and/or a particular topic. There is teaching and also some group interaction. Children under nine have a separate teaching gathering. Copies of selected previous sermons are available
At this gathering a kid-friendly summary of the previous week is given and then we spend some time responding through arts and crafts. People are then given an opportunity to share their response. Children under five have a separate response gathering.
At each of these gatherings we recite a ‘Welcome’ all together and acknowledge the Ngunnawal people on whose land we meet.
